Blackjack Advice

Blackjack Advice on choosing tables and casinos:

  • Look for casinos that have unrestricted rules on doubling down. For example, some casinos allow you to re-split aces and some won't. Other casinos carry rules that forbid doubling down on cards with values other than 9-11 while others will allow doubling down on any valued card.
  • A good piece of Blackjack advice is to choose un-crowded tables. The more crowded the table is the more difficult it is to keep track of the cards in play and there is also less plays per deck.

Blackjack Advice on making bets:

  • Making insurance bets is unwise unless the majority of face cards remain un-played. The higher the number the face cards left, the larger the chances of the dealer busting. Remember, the odds do not rationalize the cost.

Blackjack Advice on strategy:

  • Play to get a better hand than the dealer. Do not forget that the goal of the game is to get as close to 21 as possible as well as beating the dealer's hand.
  • Players will end up losing more if they chase their losses.
  • Try not to deviate from the perfect play and always keep the strategy chart in mind.
  • Aces and eights are always best split up if they are dealt in pairs. They do not play well as pairs in a single hand.

Rules to remember:

  • The dealer always has the advantage because the player is always the first to go.
  • There are certain rules the dealer has to follow regardless of their position. For example, if the dealer is winning with a hand with the total of 16, he is still forced to take another card.
  • The player loses if he busts first, even though the dealer may bust later in the game.
  • It is not in the player's favor to stay at a table where the dealer can take another hit on a soft 17. It is best to choose a table where the dealer is forced to stay on all 17's.
